Aftercare and Maintenance

After your procedure, it’s important to remove lymph fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. If there is any dry lymph left on the skin before bed, then gently rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry, and apply MicroBalm Healing Ointment.

For the next week, you’ll want to make sure you keep your lips moist at all times. Apply the MicroBalm Healing Ointment every 30 minutes throughout the day.

For the first seven days after the treatment, please avoid:

  • Makeup
  • Excessive sweating
  • Sauna
  • Pools

Yes. Trauma to the lips—including lips blushing—can act as a trigger for the Herpes virus, causing cold sores for those who have it. In order to avoid a flare-up, we encourage you to be vigilant in post-procedure care. Many clients have found that taking Valtrex (a prescription medication) or L-Lysine (a vitamin supplement) can help them avoid major cold sore flare ups.
